BLIN5 Workshop 2022

The 5th edition of the workshop on Beam-Line & INstrumentation for laser-driven particle acceleration, BLIN5, was held as a 3-day hybrid meeting in Garching, 12th to 14th of October 2022. Chaired by Jörg Schreiber (LMU), Andreas Maier (DESY), Ulrich Schramm (HZDR), Francois Sylla (Sourcelab), and Enam Chowdhury (OSU), the event was hosted by PULSE at CALA. The workshop featured talks on beam line developments for laser-electron and ion acceleration as well as instrumentation for laser, laser-plasma, protons, heavy ions, and secondary reaction products.

Presentations on experimental realisation of laser-plasma based free electron lasing, neutron generation, proton accelertion beyond 100 MeV were among the highlight presentations for more than 30 in participants on site and around 50 in total.  

The BLIN series is an essential pillar of the LMU-organized workshop trilogy that has been a decade in its making (ALPA, TARG and BLIN). For more information visit alpa.physik.uni-muenchen.de.
