Hao Ding receives his PhD
Congratulations to Prof. Karsch's former student!
01.02.2022
On February 1st, former CALA/PULSE student Hao Ding sucessfully defended his PhD on the topic "LWFA diagnostics development for ATLAS-300 and Nonlinear Plasma Wavelength Scalings". The thesis covered the topics of
- calibration of scintillating screens and dipole magnets for electron beam charge and energy measurement
- using transverse few-cycle shadowgraphy to study plasma wavelengths scalings
Hao was a long-time member of Prof. Stefan Karsch's group and has already joined Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in the US as a postdoctoral researcher. Due to the Covid pandemic the defense took place online. The exam committee was chaired by Jörg Schreiber and members were Stefan Karsch, Carl Schroeder, and Jochen Weller.
