New PhD student in the LION group

Timo started his PhD in our group in October 2024. His research will focus on detecting photon-photon scattering, in order to test the predictions by vacuum quantum electrodynamics (QED), with the goal of providing experimental evidence for its existence. Additionally, Timo is involved in Michael Bachhammers Maus3000 project (project 01IS24028), which aims to automatically compensate the long-term drift of the ATLAS-3000 laser. Timo obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees at the LMU and had already joined the LION group for his master thesis.
