Congratulations Moritz

18.10.2024

Moritz Foerster successfully defended his PhD thesis on "Hybrid Wakefield Acceleration: A Source of Stable and High-Density Electron Beams", demonstrating a clever combination of laser and particle-driven plasma acceleration that achieved gradients over 150 GeV/m with improved beam stability. His work at CALA, supervised by Prof. Stefan Karsch, showed how using a laser-wakefield accelerated electron beam to drive a second acceleration stage can produce better quality beams than the driver itself. We congratulate Moritz on his successful defense!
