Data protection

We process personal data gathered when visiting our websites in compliance with applicable data protection legislation. We neither publish your data nor transmit them to third parties on an unauthorized basis. For more information about data handling we refer to the Privacy page of LMU Munich, which hosts the web site (only available in German).

Regarding the online seminars themselves, the individual hosts are responsible to assure adequate data protection measures. This includes choosing an applicable video conferencing service, with the users agreeing to its terms of service and data protection clauses. In each meeting, you have the possibility to connect anonymously or by using your name or a pseudonym. When using the chat functions your submissions may be included in the discussion and the name or pseudonym you have provided may also be stated in the seminar's live stream or recording. As the latter will be published on the LPA seminar YouTube channel, this information may possibly be stored for a longer period. The processing of such personal data is required for the purposes of pursuing the legitimate interest of the LPA seminars of enabling an interactive exchange of information in the context of live streaming and discussion. It is therefore permissible pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

LEGAL NOTICE concerning LMU hosted events: The recording and duplication of an event or content, e.g. of slides or presentations is prohibited for copyright and data protection reasons. Events and content from it may not be distributed in whole or in part without authorization, especially not on the Internet or in social networks. As far as personal data are processed, the relevant data protection regulations must be observed, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation and the Bavarian Data Protection Act. The events and content are intended exclusively for academic purposes and to fulfill academic tasks. Violations of any kind, in particular an unauthorized recording of events or content, an unauthorized use or distribution of events or content, violations of personal rights, illegal and unlawful data processing, manipulation of events or content or the disclosure of user IDs or passwords, can be prosecuted and punished under civil and criminal law.
